Rio Carnaval (1940's)

...conflicts and police prohibitions, led to a carnivalisitic "stale mate" lasting until the late 1940s....the rich retreated into secluded Club events...this is where our scene is set...during the time when the Rio Samba founds its way onto the international scene...& singing star Carmen Miranda captivated Hollywood with her hips and hats, and Donald Duck learned to samba with the parrot Zé Carioca...."

This is a wonderful way to celebrate with friends (and LOVERS) - on Valentines weekend.

COST: $55.00 before January 22nd. $75 after.

Saturday

3:30pm Meet for Drinks and say hello to other overnight guests at the - Presidential Lounge. No Host Cash Bar.

5:30pm-on Vintage Photo Booth - Capture all the love in the air and make it last forever with vintage photos by Rosey Lakos....a revenant moment of dreaming beneath a paper moon and flashbulb stars...Polaroids with Picture frames will be available to purchase with a lovely back drop to remember your time at the Rio Carnaval 1940's. The Photo Booth will be available throughout the evening inbetween the live music.

Seating for dinner will also start @ 5:30pm for the early birds. There is no assigned seating so get there early to secure your spot.

Baby Arugula & Belgian Endive Salad Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella & Spiced Pecans with a sundried cranberry Walnut Oil Vinaigrette

Sage-Garlic-Roasted free range chicken breast served with edamame cassoulet and a crimini mushroom & walnut-roasted tomato ragout

Pan-seared Steelhead Salmon & Spicy Bay Scallops with steamed brown rice & Minted Grapefruit-orange Salsa

Charbroiled Lean Beef Filet Mignon, accompanied by Cannellini fava bean & braised greens – black currant reduction.

All entrees served with Chef’s selection of fresh seasonal vegetables.

VEGETARIAN OPTIONS available if requested in advance.

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream

There will be a full bar @ or you can bring-in bottles of wine and pay corkage - $12 a bottle. The hotel will set-up the wine glasses.

Please be prepared to pay cash for corkeage at event registration desk to Miss Art Deco. We will be charged for each bottle. THANKS!

9pm-2am Speakeasy* - Pool, Poker, Vintage movies, & Vinyl DJ – Dancing. No Host Cash Bar.

The Speakeasy has stairs going up to The Eagle Rock Courtyard which will be set as the outdoor cigar lounge.

Ala carte speakeasy access for non-hotel guests / dinner guests are based on availability - 1-week prior to event - be sure to join the e-mail list for more info.
